For the fifth year in a row, we spent much of the weekend with a who’s who of the US national security establishment, including dozens of CEOs, military service chiefs, and members of Congress at the Reagan National Defense Forum. While each constituency has its own agenda to push (DoD arguing for higher budgets, members of Congress sharing political/policy views, and companies connecting with the customer), this year’s event reminded us why defense stocks remain a must-own in many portfolios, even given high valuations vs. industrials and the broader market.
