In our fourth report focused on industrial tech, we take a closer look at additive manufacturing or 3D printing, a set of technologies with the potential to transform the design and production processes for everything from jet engines to hubcaps. Adoption is still in its infancy and penetration in industrial markets remains limited, but the addressable market is huge and the technology is maturing. Corporates and VC funds are accelerating investments and conference calls are increasingly littered with discussions of additive. We spent the last couple of months speaking with engineers, consultants, CEOs, and board members across the additive manufacturing value chain.
