Warehouse automation is one of the most exciting themes we’re doing work on. The structural shift toward eCommerce and away from brick-and-mortar is upending traditional consumer supply chains. And most of the existing warehouses/DC (distribution center) stock in the U.S. is not designed or equipped to handle these demands. Importantly…they also can’t easily be retrofitted. Labor is also becoming harder to find, pushing companies toward more automated solutions. This is driving a significant amount of spend on new DCs; U.S. warehouse construction spending has nearly doubled from the prior 2008 peak and could easily double again.
