Managing Director – Head of Housing Research

Michael Rehaut serves as Managing Director and Head of Housing Research at Melius, where he leads the firm’s efforts covering the housing sector across multiple industries, including homebuilders, building products manufacturers, distributors and home centers.

Throughout his 30+ year career, Mr. Rehaut has excelled at identifying trends, catalysts and drivers both on an industry level as well as for individual companies. During a 16-year span between 2008-24, he was recognized as a top-three analyst by Extel/Institutional Investor 15 times, including being ranked #1 in 2008-09; #2 in 2020-22, 2016 and 2010-13; and #3 in 2015, 2017-19 and 2024.

Prior to Melius, Mr. Rehaut was a Senior Analyst covering the Homebuilding and Building Products sector for J.P. Morgan for 24 years.  Prior to J.P. Morgan, Mr. Rehaut was a senior equity research analyst at Salmon Smith Barney and an investment banking associate at NatWest Markets.

Mr. Rehaut graduated from New York University’s Stern School of Business, summa cum laude, with a B.S. in Economics and Finance and is a CFA charterholder.
