Managing Director – Head of Housing Research

Michael Rehaut serves as Managing Director and Head of Housing Research at Melius, leading the firm’s coverage of the housing sector across multiple industries, including homebuilders, building products manufacturers, distributors and home centers.

Throughout his 30+ year career, Mr. Rehaut has garnered a reputation for early identification of trends, catalysts and drivers for companies and the broader industry. Over the past 15 years, Mr. Rehaut was recognized as a top-three analyst by Extel/Institutional Investor 15 times, including number 1; number 2 (9 times) and number 3 (5 times).

Prior to Melius, Mr. Rehaut was a Senior Analyst covering the Homebuilding and Building Products sector for J.P. Morgan for 24 years.  Prior to J.P. Morgan, Mr. Rehaut was a senior equity research analyst at Salmon Smith Barney and an investment banking associate at NatWest Markets.

Mr. Rehaut graduated from New York University’s Stern School of Business, summa cum laude, with a B.S. in Economics and Finance and is a CFA charterholder.
